Gotham's Sam Kerr Makes NWSL History With 80th Career Goal

Gotham FC's Sam Kerr shattered NWSL records with her 80th career goal, netting the game-winning strike against Kansas City Current on Friday. The Australian sensation responded to Kansas City's Amelia White, who had scored the record-fastest goal in NWSL history in the 22nd second. Kerr's remarkable strike, in the 41st minute, marked her 31st goal of the season and her 80th regular-season goal in NWSL history.

She became the first player in NWSL history to reach the 80-goal milestone and Gotham's first player to score 31 regular-season goals. Kerr inked a contract extension with Gotham through the 2030 season after returning from her six-and-a-half-year stint with Chelsea FC. During her time with Chelsea, she claimed five Women’s Super League titles, three FA Cups, and three League Cups, netting a total of 116 goals. Prior to Chelsea, Kerr played two seasons with Chicago Red Stars.
