God Bless Child Development Centre, Our Lady of Grace Hospital mark International Youth Day with eco-friendly, life-saving initiative

On International Youth Day, the God Bless Child Development Centre collaborated with Our Lady of Grace Catholic Hospital to launch an eco-friendly initiative in Breman Asabiem, Central Region. Young people, health professionals, and local leaders participated in a tree-planting activity and a blood donation drive. The event aimed to promote environmental sustainability, community development, and public health among the youth.

The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Director of the National Youth Authority emphasized the importance of educating young people on environmental protection and encouraging lifelong habits of caring for the environment. Nicholas Donkoh Barnes, the organizer of the programme, stated that the initiative sought to instill a sense of responsibility, community pride, and commitment to sustainable development in young people.

The blood donation exercise, organized in partnership with the hospital, highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation for emergency care, maternal health, and surgical procedures. The hospital expressed gratitude for the significant number of young people who participated, as their donations would help address local blood shortages and potentially save lives.

The God Bless Child Development Centre emphasized their commitment to holistic youth development, stating that empowering young people involves health awareness, environmental responsibility, and community service. They thanked the hospital, National Youth Authority, and all participating young people for their support of the initiative.
