Get out and about, have a sip at local beer, wine events

Winnipeg residents seeking a taste of summer and fall can enjoy a variety of local beer and wine events in the coming month. The Manitoba chapter of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers will host the Rosé the Night Away event on a rooftop at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre on Monday. This event will feature a selection of rosé wines and small bites, with tickets priced at $42 for members and $55 for non-members.

The Winnipeg Beer Festival will return on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Le Patio 340. Over 20 producers will be offering samples of their craft beers, including core pours and small-batch brews. The festival will take place in two time slots, with tickets priced at $50 plus taxes for each slot.

Low Life Barrel House and Ellement Wine + Spirits will co-host the 11th annual natural wine party on Tuesday, Aug. 25. A dozen natural wines will be available by the glass, with some available by the bottle. This event is free to attend, with no dress code or reservation required.

Barn Hammer Brewing Co. will offer a Rare Spirits Tasting Experience on Thursday, Aug. 27. Guests will be able to sample three unique spirits, including a smoke spirit, gin, and whisky, along with a light snack and purchase the Plume Smoke Spirit before it goes on sale to the public. Tickets are priced at $75 and are limited to 20 people.

For those who prefer a daytime event, the Rosé Disco party will take place at Red River Exhibition Park on Sunday, Aug. 30. Featuring a range of rosé wines, small bites, DJ sets, and a cocktail garden, this event will run from 2 p.m. to close. Tickets start at $35 plus fees, with a VIP upgrade available for an additional cost.
