Field Marshal Asim Munir lauds veterans’ services to Pakistan

Permanently representing Pakistan at the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad emphasized the nation's role in mediating the US-Iran conflict during an Independence Day celebration held at Pakistan House in New York. As Pakistan marked its 80th year of independence, Ahmad highlighted the country's commitment to achieving peace and stability amidst global turmoil.

Addressing fellow Pakistanis, he urged renewed dedication to the nation's founding principles of sovereignty, peace, security, and socio-economic development. Remarking on Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's leadership, Ahmad described him as an exceptional statesman who not only led the struggle for independence but also created a sovereign state.

Reflecting on Pakistan's achievements since its 1947 birth, Ahmad spoke of the resilience and courage of the nation's people who overcame significant challenges. He also paid tribute to the armed forces for their bravery in defending the country during the 2025 conflict with India. The ambassador highlighted the world's leading innovators, athletes, and artists of Pakistani descent who continue to bring honor to their homeland.

Paying tribute to Saima Saleem and Aleena Majeed of the Permanent Mission, Ahmad lauded their work as an inspiration. Acknowledging Pakistan's ongoing support for the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, Ahmad called for continued efforts to combat terrorism while fostering economic and developmental progress.

Speaking to the young attendees, Ahmad encouraged them to be the future beacon of Pakistan, emphasizing their collective responsibility in shaping a nation that would "shine bright forever."
