Fernandes misses penalty in Utd defeat against Amorim’s AC Milan

In a pre-season friendly, Manchester United faced AC Milan and suffered a 4-2 defeat. Bruno Fernandes, the United captain, missed a penalty shot, missing it wide, just like he did in a shootout against Leeds earlier that week. Fernandes was presented with the opportunity to score, but Milan's goalkeeper, Lorenzo Torriani, made a successful save by diving to his right.

Despite missing the penalty, Fernandes did contribute to the match by providing an assist to Harry Maguire, who scored the opening goal for United with a powerful header in the second minute. Milan equalized after a defensive error allowed Goncalo Ramos to score for Chukwueze. Fernandes was also involved in the second penalty situation, which United took advantage of just before halftime after Koni De Winter fouled Tielemans.

However, Torriani correctly guessed the penalty taker and blocked Fernandes' attempt. United regained the lead through Patrick Dorgu, who scored after a loose backpass from Filippo Terracciano. Nevertheless, Milan managed to equalize again when Chukwueze's shot was deflected into the net by Alphadjo Cisse. Marcus Rashford, who had been left out by Milan's manager Ruben Amorim and loaned out to other clubs, made his first appearance for United as a substitute in the 60th minute.

Despite Rashford's effort, Milan's Chukwueze sealed the win in the 68th minute, scoring his second goal of the match.
