Family of three killed after two houses go up in flames in Pahang

Three members of a family perished when two neighboring houses in Desa Mawar 2, Pahang, were engulfed in a fire early this morning. The victims were found to be trapped inside a wooden house measuring around 20 by 30 square feet and a semi-permanent house measuring approximately 30 by 40 square feet. Upon receiving an emergency call at 4.11am, personnel from the Muadzam Shah Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene about six minutes later.

The fire, believed to have originated in the wooden house, quickly spread, leaving only 70 percent of the semi-permanent house still standing. Despite the extensive damage, two other children, consisting of an adult son and a boy, managed to escape unharmed. The Pahang Fire and Rescue Department confirmed that the occupants of the semi-permanent house, comprising a man, a woman, three boys, and a girl, were rescued without any casualties.

The fire was extinguished by 5.05am, and the Fire Department's Forensics Unit was later notified to conduct further investigations. The bodies of the deceased were subsequently handed over to the authorities for a comprehensive examination.
