Every heart was beating in rhythm to Vande Mataram on the 80th Independence Day at the Red Fort, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the historic first-ever rendition of the national song. This momentous occasion took place from the ramparts of the iconic monument, marking the first time the song had echoed from the Red Fort since India's independence.

Addressing the nation from the fort's steps, the Prime Minister stated, "Today, every heart is beating with the rhythm of Vande Mataram. Aaj har ghar Tiranga hai, har mann Tiranga hai." He further added, "For everyone present at this ceremony today, this is also a historic moment. For the first time since independence, Vande Mataram is resounding at the Red Fort on August 15th."

The Prime Minister highlighted that the National Song resonated in every heart, while the Tricolour flew in every home and dwelled in every mind. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and My Bharat volunteers participated in the celebrations, forming the words of Vande Mataram on the Gyanpath stage. A grand total of 2,500 NCC cadets and My Bharat volunteers took part in the festivities, which also included the singing of the National Anthem following Prime Minister Modi's speech from the fort's ramparts.
