Ekonomi berkembang rakyat kena rasa nikmatnya, kata Tengku Zafrul

Former minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz has emphasized that the reform struggle must translate into tangible benefits felt by the people, whether through economic growth or reforms to key institutions like Felda. He noted that the second quarter of 2026's Gross Domestic Product per capita (GDP) growth of 6% exceeded expectations and should bring direct benefits to the people.

However, this progress must be accompanied by a robust communication effort to ensure the people are aware of these developments. If the people do not know about these improvements, it's not their fault; it's a failure on our part to communicate effectively. Despite this, Tengku Zafrul emphasized that our work is far from finished.

He stated that we still have a long way to go to win the trust of the people and continue implementing fresh agendas for their benefit. Recently, Anwar, who is also PKR's president, announced plans to repeal the Universities and University Colleges Act (Auku) due to certain concerns. He also indicated that the government will address the Felda issue after settling the Haj Trust Fund (TH) controversy.

Tengku Zafrul highlighted that AG Sultan Ibrahim also stressed the need for ongoing investigations into issues related to people's institutions until the TH matter is resolved.
