Former minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz has stated that the reform struggle must yield visible and felt benefits for the people, whether through economic growth or the improvement of crucial institutions such as Felda. He emphasized that the 6% foreign exchange earnings growth rate for 2026, second quarter, surpasses expectations and ensures the people reap its benefits.

However, this improvement needs to be accompanied by tangible benefits felt by the entire populace. He also stressed the need for improved communication efforts to ensure the people are aware of these developments. If the people are unaware, it is not their responsibility; it reflects the limitations of our communication. Tengku Zafrul pointed out that Anwar, who is also the President of PKR, has already mentioned several critical points, including the repeal of the University and Institute of Technology Act 1971 (Auku), and the restoration of essential institutions like Felda.

He underscored that while much work remains, the goal is to win the trust of the people for the continuation of fresh agendas for their benefit. Earlier today, Anwar announced at the PKR National Congress in Melaka that Auku would be repealed as certain aspects do not satisfy the students' aspirations despite subsequent amendments.

He also indicated that the government will address the Felda issue after settling matters related to the Islamic Endowment Fund (TH). Tengku Zafrul further emphasized that this matter was also highlighted by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim during their recent meeting, where he expressed the desire for continuous investigations into issues concerning institutions belonging to the people, extending to the TH.
