Devon Witherspoon, Seahawks agree to four-year extension

Devon Witherspoon, a first-round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2023, has reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension, according to reports from ESPN's Adam Schefter. The contract is valued at $132 million, with $101 million guaranteed, making Witherspoon the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. Witherspoon, who was selected as the 5th overall pick, has already been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons.

He has been a key player for the Seahawks, contributing to their victory in Super Bowl LX in February. His impressive career statistics include 32 passes defended, two interceptions, and 4.5 sacks in 43 games. Witherspoon's inclusion in the new deal leaves the focus of contract negotiations on the Patriots and cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
