The White House and officials in the Trump administration are expressing deep concern over the illegal encampment of Jewish Israelis near the West Bank village of Qusra. They have demanded explanations from Israel regarding the violence that occurred in Qusra and questioned the reasons behind the army's failure to prevent harm to Palestinians. The incident has raised doubts about the presence of anarchy in Israel and the effectiveness of its security forces.

The controversy intensified after it was reported that the Tel Talpiot outpost had recently been used as a staging ground for establishing additional settlements in the area. One of these settlements was built close to Palestinian homes in Qusra, leading to heightened tensions between the Jewish settlers and the local residents.

Footage captured from the region showed IDF soldiers praying alongside the Jewish settlers residing at the outpost. Upon the outpost's establishment, council head Abd al-Azim Wadi reported that tensions escalated, and attempts to contact Israeli security officials went unanswered. The Israeli police and the Palestinian civil and military coordination office were called, but no action was taken.

The IDF intervened on Tuesday, but did not address the fact that the outpost had not been evacuated. They stated that several reports had been received about Israeli civilians entering Palestinian homes and land in the vicinity of Qusra and Jalud, taking control of them. This illegal and disgraceful activity was deemed unacceptable by the IDF.

On Wednesday morning, security forces arrived at the scene to evacuate the "shed" where the settlers were residing. However, additional extremists arrived and began blocking access roads with heavy rocks. The IDF spokesperson claimed that the shed had been evacuated, but conflicts erupted between IDF and Border Police forces. Footage from the site showed the Jewish settlers sitting on sofas and mattresses in the same location, without the presence of the shed.

The IDF further claimed that disciplinary actions would be taken against the forces involved, as footage from earlier days had been documented at the site. A statement from the IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, emphasized the need to prevent further serious incidents and reinforce the sector with another regular infantry battalion. The battalion, currently on rest and refit, will be dispatched to the Qusra area to strengthen operational control and bring the rioters to justice.
