Country built on equality, says Minister Sharan Prakash Patil

Minister for Medical Education and Yadgir district in-charge Sharan Prakash Patil declared that India's foundation is built on the principle of equality, following the nation's struggle for independence from British colonial rule. During the 80th Independence Day celebrations in Yadgir, the minister paid homage to the leaders who spearheaded the freedom movement and expressed gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country's freedom.

The leaders he mentioned include Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad, and B.R. Ambedkar, who led the movement with their vision and laid the groundwork for a nation rooted in equality.

Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag, Patil outlined the State government's developmental agenda, which is set to be implemented by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar within the next 100 days. The 45 key programmes aim to ensure pro-people governance and improve the welfare of the citizens in various sectors. Some of the primary focus areas include agriculture, healthcare, education, employment, and youth empowerment.

The minister also emphasized the importance of enhancing public service delivery, combating drug abuse, attracting industrial investments, establishing global technology centres, and boosting tourism in Karnataka.

Furthermore, Dr. Patil highlighted the impact of the State's five flagship guarantee schemes and ongoing infrastructure projects, reiterating the government's commitment to driving comprehensive development across all major sectors.
