Carlos Martín seals Atlético comeback win at Marseille

Atlético Madrid staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Olympique de Marseille 2-1 in a preseason friendly match at the Orange Vélodrome on Friday, according to Sky Sports. Mario Paixão put Marseille ahead in the 22nd minute, but Rodrigo Mendoza equalised for Atlético in the 39th minute. Carlos Martín scored the decisive goal in the 78th minute, securing the win for Atlético.

The match started with a series of changes for Atlético, including the introductions and withdrawals of Grimaldo, Mendoza, and Martín during the first half, while Arnau Ortiz entered the game at the start of the second half. Grimaldo, Mendoza, and Martín were all substituted during the match, while several other players from Atlético featured as the team used their squad.

Marseille's Geoffrey Kondogbia, Leonardo Balerdi, and Igor Paixão received yellow cards, along with Atlético players Robin Le Normand and Giuliano Simeone. Oblak made crucial second-half saves from Amine Gouiri and Timothy Weah as Marseille tried to equalise, but Martín's late goal proved to be the difference-maker, solidifying Atlético's victory.
