Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston come up big in 2nd half and propel Fever past Wings 98-87

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston delivered crucial second-half performances, leading the Indiana Fever to a 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings in a pivotal matchup for playoff positioning.

Caitlin Clark, who contributed 16 of her team's 29 points, showcased her scoring prowess in the third quarter, while Aliyah Boston added 10 points in the fourth quarter to cement the Fever's lead. Clark also recorded 10 assists, while Boston contributed 12 rebounds.

Kelsey Mitchell contributed 23 points, and Tyasha Harris, who had not scored a field goal in her previous six games, made five consecutive 3-pointers to finish with 15 points.

Caitlin Clark became only the second player in WNBA history to record at least 20 points and 10 assists in a game, adding to her impressive 20-point, 10-assist outing this season, which ranks as the most in league history. Kelsey Mitchell extended her WNBA single-season record of scoring at least 20 points in 18 consecutive games.

The Fever secured their eighth consecutive win in 10 games and now hold a half-game lead over the Atlanta Dream for the top No. 4 spot in the eight-team postseason field.

Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 29 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Arike Ogunbowale added 20 points. The Wings fell into a tie for seventh with the Washington Mystics and will face the Fever one last time this season in Dallas. The only drama of the night occurred on the court, as Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark traded baskets in a competitive third quarter.

Indiana took the lead in the fourth quarter with a 15-2 run, sparked by Clark's second three-pointer, and never relinquished it as Harris' late three-pointers sealed the win.
