Browns QB Battle: Deshaun Watson steps up, Shedeur Sanders regresses

The debate surrounding the Cleveland Browns quarterback position continues. In a preseason game against the Bears, Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders both had opportunities to showcase their skills. Early on, Watson was sharp and explosive, throwing for 126 yards with no touchdowns. He connected well with receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, even making a highlight-reel throw to Harold Fannin Jr. that was dropped.

However, as the second quarter progressed, the Browns' offensive line faltered under pressure, and Watson's momentum slowed. He finished the half going 11-for-15 for 126 yards, but with no touchdowns. Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders started the second half strongly with two impressive plays on his first drive, including a 35-yard completion to Luke Floriea.

But Sanders' day ended abruptly on a third-and-eight play where he floated an incomplete pass over the middle, leading to an interception. Sanders went 6-for-11 for 126 yards and one interception. While neither player solidified their position, Watson is seen as the frontrunner heading into the next preseason game against the Bills. The competition is far from over as the Browns search for their starting quarterback.
