Bhiwandi Celebrates 80th Independence Day With Flag Hoisting, Civic Announcements And Tributes

Bhiwandi commemorated its 80th Independence Day on Saturday with patriotic fervor and civic celebrations. Flag-hoisting events took place at governmental and semi-governmental facilities, including the Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation headquarters, Sub-Divisional Office, Deputy Commissioner of Police office, and various schools and social organizations.

Notable figures such as Mayor Narayan Ratan Chaudhary, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Sanap, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Pawan Bansod participated in the ceremonies.

Mayor Chaudhary addressed the gathering at the municipal headquarters and announced plans for an electric bus service, marking a step towards sustainable transportation. Additionally, the civic body recognized the achievements of 500 women who had undergone skill training via municipal programs. Educational tours to New Delhi were organized for students, offering them a firsthand look at important national institutions.

The mayor also implored youth to steer clear of substance abuse, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle and active participation in the city's progress. A floral tribute was laid at the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at the municipal headquarters, underscoring the collective spirit of national unity and patriotism.
