Bengaluru man alleges threat from jailed gangster to give up garbage contract

A Bengaluru garbage contractor has accused a jailed gangster of threatening him to surrender a garbage contract in the city, according to a police complaint filed on August 10. Imran Anjum, 36, alleged that Grace Walter Joseph, a member of the Wilson Garden Naga gang, threatened him via a call on June 2. The caller demanded Rs 30,000 per month from Anjum and warned that he would face grave consequences if he refused.

When Anjum declined, his associates allegedly met with him at a Banashankari office and forced him to hand over the contract to Jayanth. Anjum claimed that he has been feeling followed since his refusal and has sought police protection. The case was registered as a First Information Report under sections related to criminal intimidation and threat of breach of peace.
