Arab League condemns ongoing Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon

The Arab League has vehemently denounced ongoing Israeli assaults on southern Lebanon, asserting that they have been targeting civilians in the Nabatieh area and surrounding towns since August 15. The spokesperson for the Arab League's Secretary-General has expressed strong condemnation of these attacks, describing them as a clear violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that jeopardizes any attempts to resolve the conflict and end the occupation.

According to an official statement, the spokesperson emphasized that Israel's policies and actions reveal a clear intention to prolong hostilities, disrupt negotiations, and impose an intolerable new reality on the ground. The spokesperson for the Secretary-General also warned of the potential for a broader conflict if the international community, especially the United States, fails to intervene promptly to stop Israel's military actions and ensure Israel adheres to UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The spokesperson reiterated the Arab League's unwavering support for Lebanon and its people, and pledged full backing for the Lebanese state in defending against any threats to Lebanon's security, stability, sovereignty, and civil peace.
