Anwar: PKR must remain a mass movement, not just a vehicle to win elections

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 15 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) must continue its role as a mass movement, grounded in integrity, social justice, unity and the people's trust, not as a mere vehicle for election victories, declared its president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a Facebook post. These principles are vital for creating a dignified, prosperous and just Malaysia for everyone, the Prime Minister emphasized.

Anwar expressed his hope that the upcoming PKR National Congress 2026, which begins today at the Melaka International Trade Centre in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, would provide a platform for introspection, assessing the party's accomplishments and reinforcing its commitment to the Reformasi agenda. "May Allah SWT bless all our efforts for our beloved homeland, Insya-Allah," he concluded.

The two-day congress, themed "Memugar Reformasi, Membina Madani" (Revitalising Reformasi, Building Madani), aims to strengthen the party's direction and rekindle the spirit of the reformasi movement that underpinned PKR's inception, as it navigates the present political climate. Anwar is expected to officiate the congress today and deliver his policy speech, outlining the party's strategic agenda and future course.
