Alia urges calm as FG proposes pilot ranches in Benue, other states

Benue State Governor Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia has urged the public to exercise restraint and thoughtful consideration in response to the Federal Government's proposal to establish pilot ranches in several states, including Benue. In a statement released on Saturday, the chief press secretary to the governor, Tersoo Kula, noted that Governor Alia did not take a position against the people's interests and emphasized that every Benue individual is a crucial stakeholder in the collective effort to revitalize the state.

According to Kula, Governor Alia has consistently demonstrated his commitment to serving the people and not merely leading. The statement affirmed that there was a necessity for restraint and thoughtful deliberation regarding the federal government's initiative, urging the public not to rush to politicize the issue through the streets, churches, media, or marketplaces.

Kula further mentioned that Governor Alia has been actively engaged in discussions and consultations with the public and relevant authorities, ensuring that the concerns of Benue State and its residents remain his top priority. He highlighted that not every matter necessitates an immediate public response and that deliberate deliberation often yields better results.

Kula concluded by stressing why patience and thoughtful engagement were essential as the government evaluates the proposal and decides on the most suitable course of action for Benue.
