Afdlin Shauki wants PKR division chiefs named GE candidates early

Setiawangsa PKR division chief Datuk Afdlin Shauki has suggested that all party division chiefs should be named as candidates for the upcoming general election early on. This would afford them a year to campaign and establish a rapport with the public, enabling the party to evaluate their performance before the vote. If a division chief fails to meet expectations within that timeframe, Afdlin stated that they should be replaced.

However, it is crucial to name them as candidates initially so they can begin their work, gain voter confidence, and potentially garner support from those wishing to assist. This proposal, Afdlin asserted, is part of a broader strategy to ensure that prospective candidates have ample time to interact with voters and demonstrate their abilities before the general election.

He added that early announcement of candidates would also provide the party leadership with sufficient time to assess their suitability for the role. Furthermore, Afdlin called upon the party leadership to appoint coordinators for every Federal Territories constituency where such positions are currently unfilled, emphasizing that the groundwork must commence without delay.

He urged the leadership to consider appointing coordinators for all constituencies lacking them as well, stressing the importance of initiating this work as soon as possible.
