Ukraine sanctions 13 vessels, 28 companies over illegal grain exports

Ukraine has sanctioned 13 vessels and 28 companies for engaging in illegal exports of grain from occupied territories, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky's decree, as reported by Ukrinform. The sanctions, announced by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, apply to vessels flying the flags of Russia, Panama, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Additionally, 11 Russian citizens and 28 legal entities are targeted by the sanctions. All these entities are involved in the unlawful export of Ukrainian grain from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. The sanctions extend to the owners and captains of the ships, as well as the companies involved in the export process. Ukraine intends to provide international partners with essential information to coordinate the sanctions across their jurisdictions.

Vladyslav Vlasiuk, presidential advisor and commissioner for sanctions policy, emphasized that illegal exports of Ukrainian grain must have consequences for everyone involved, from companies and owners to captains and vessels. He expressed the expectation that international partners take steps to prevent such grain from entering their markets.
