Transfer: ‘I don’t have enough players’ – Carrick sends message to Man United board

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has urged the club's board to sign more players before the summer transfer window closes. The interim head coach took over following the departure of Ruben Amorim due to a poor start to the 2025-26 season. Carrick, who has stabilized the team and secured their place in this season's UEFA Champions League, believes more signings could significantly improve the squad's chances of competing on all fronts.

In an interview with BBC Sport, Carrick said, "We want more, we need more, we keep looking for how we can do that, money's money, I understand that. We believe we must strive for success in every competition we participate in, while remaining realistic about our recent history over time." Since Amorim's exit, Carrick has signed two midfielders, Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.

The club also acquired Karl Darlow as a backup for Senne Lammens and are reportedly pursuing left-back Lewis Hall from Newcastle and Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid.
