Tiada penglibatan ‘orang dalam’ di KLIA, kata polis

Polis have stated that there was no involvement of "inside men" at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) in the case of a second flight crew member detained in Indonesia for allegedly smuggling over 26kg of drugs. According to Hussein Omar Khan, head of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, initial investigations found no evidence of "inside involvement" at KLIA, indicating the suspect acted solo in evading security checks.

The suspect, a Malaysian national, was questioned in Jakarta the following week and allegedly provided information about several syndicates in Malaysia and other countries. Indonesian authorities previously said the suspect was detained at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on July 29 after being found with over 70,000 ecstasy pills and 2.7g of methamphetamine.

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) said the suspect was a second crew member who was off-duty and occupied an additional seat in the cockpit as a lookout, not controlling the flight. Following the case, MAG initiated a mandatory drug screening program for all crew members of its companies, starting with 1,260 Malaysia Airlines crew members.
