The Reytons Bests FLO to Earn Band’s Second U.K. No. 1 Album

The Reytons have topped FLO to secure their second No. 1 album on the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart, with their fourth LP, A Love Letter to a Broken Town, released on Aug. 14. The band, originating from Yorkshire, has now achieved chart-topping success in the U.K. for two consecutive albums, following their 2023 collection, What's Rock and Roll?.

The Reytons' frontman, Jonny Yerrell, expressed his overwhelming emotions, crediting the incredible love and support from their community for this remarkable achievement. He emphasized that this is the first album in history to reach No. 1 without a single play on mainstream radio, perfectly embodying the unapologetically authentic essence of the Reytons.

Amidst the competition, R&B trio FLO held the No. 2 position midweek, with their album Therapy at the Club eventually landing at No. 5, marking its biggest opening week sales to date. Meanwhile, Michael Jackson's The Essential remains at No. 2, followed by Olivia Rodrigo's you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love at No. 3, and Ariana Grande's petal closes the chart at No. 4, down three spots from her No. 1 win the previous week; Ariana Grande is set to kick off her 10-night stand at London's O2 Arena on Saturday, Aug. 15.
