Sultan Selangor seru umat Islam berbuat baik, berbelas kasihan terhadap haiwan

Sultan Selangor urges Muslim community to practice kindness and compassion towards all animals, including wildlife, aligning with the theme of Ihsan towards Allah's creation preached in Friday sermons held in mosques across Selangor today. During his post on Facebook through the Royal Office of Selangor, the Sultan emphasized that as a steward on earth, humans bear a great responsibility to protect, maintain, and manage nature, including animals, plants, mountains, seas, and rivers.

All these entities are a testament to the vastness and power of Allah, which must be guarded and restored to their pristine state. The Sultan reiterated that human-animal relations must always be built on the foundation of ihsan and responsibility, as per the Sultan's message. Prophet Muhammad placed great emphasis on compassion towards animals, Islam teaches believers to treat animals well by providing food and water, or at the very least, not harming any animal.

However, the Sultan clarified that the situation differs when wildlife poses a threat to public safety or causes damage to property. In such cases, Islam permits taking action to prevent harm, which is in line with the maqasid al-shariah principle of safeguarding lives and property, according to the message. The Sultan stressed that ihsan towards animals and safeguarding human safety are not opposing concepts, but rather two aspects of Islam's beauty, where everything is in its rightful place.
