Sultan Selangor seru umat Islam berbuat baik, berbelas kasihan terhadap haiwan

Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has urged the Muslim community to always do good deeds and show compassion towards all creatures, including wild animals. This call aligns with the theme of Friday sermon titled "Ihsan Towards Allah's Creations" delivered at mosques across Selangor today. Through a Facebook post from the Royal Office of Selangor, the Sultan emphasized that as a steward on Earth, humanity has a great responsibility to care for, preserve, and manage nature, including animals, plants, mountains, seas, and rivers.

All of these are signs of the greatness and power of Allah, which must be guarded and restored. The relationship between humans and other creatures should always be built on the foundation of ihsan and responsibility, according to the post. Sultan Shah Alham was particularly keen on the mercy shown by Prophet Muhammad towards animals, to the extent that Islam teaches followers to be kind to animals by providing food and water, or at least not harming any creature.

However, the Sultan also noted that the situation changes when wild animals may pose a threat to public safety or cause property damage. In such cases, Islam allows for measures to be taken to prevent harm, which aligns with the broader principle of safeguarding life and property, known as maqasid syariah. The Sultan reiterated that ihsan towards animals and safeguarding human safety are not mutually exclusive, but rather part of the beauty of Islamic teachings that put everything in its rightful place.
