Kim Min-hee "I breastfed baby during filming"... First public appearance with Hong Sang-soo after giving birth

The South Korean actress Kim Min-hi and director Hong Sang-soo attended the 79th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland, where their new film "There Is No Place for the Sun" was invited to compete in the International Competition section. The film marked Hong's 35th feature-length movie. The couple attended the festival to promote the screening of their film and participate in a conversation with the audience.

This is the first time Kim Min-hi and Hong Sang-soo have appeared together on a formal stage after giving birth to their son in April. Kim Min-hi shared that she had to breastfeed and prepare meals for the baby while filming despite the demanding schedule, stating, "Since filming the movie, I had to breastfeed the baby and make meals for them.

These were among the first things I did each day." She added, "Without blinking an eye, I got up early in the morning to prepare for the baby and focus on making the movie. The feeling of being fully immersed in the film, abandoning the previous mindset of being consumed by the movie, made me feel healthier." "There Is No Place for the Sun" tells the story of a daughter, Se-hi (played by Kim Min-hi), who travels to Jeju Island to find her mother, who died ten years earlier.

Kim Min-hi not only played the lead role but also took on the role of co-producer. Hong Sang-soo handled all aspects of the film's production, including direction, screenplay, cinematography, recording, editing, and music. The Locarno Film Festival, established in 1946, is one of the most prestigious film festivals in Europe, following the Berlin, Cannes, and Venice festivals.

Hong Sang-soo received the Best Director award for "Our Sweet Hope" at the Locarno Film Festival in 2013 and the Golden Bear award for "When the Feeling Is There, It Is" in 2015. Kim Min-hi was awarded the Best Actress award for Hong Sang-soo's 32nd film, "Breastfeeding River," in 2024.
