Real Madrid’s links to Arsenal midfielder have ‘no basis’ – report

Real Madrid has denied any interest in Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi, according to a recent report. The club, which has not fully strengthened its midfield this summer with the signing of Bernardo Silva, initially showed interest in Rodri, but the Spaniard's refusal led to claims that Real Madrid had faith in their existing squad.

Jose Mourinho, however, appears confident in his current core players. Despite constant rumors linking Real Madrid to potential targets in the transfer window, the Spanish outlet, MARCA, maintains that there is no basis for the Zubimendi link. The report explicitly states that there are no ongoing negotiations or any brewing situation between the two clubs for the Arsenal player.

As such, Real Madrid may not make any new signings in the midfield unless a player leaves or suffers a serious injury, neither of which seem likely at this time. The only scenario where a new midfielder could be acquired is if a vacancy occurs, which, at present, appears unlikely. Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga have all been linked with departures this summer, but all three players have stayed with varying degrees of conviction.

While Camavinga has been pushed by the club to leave, he has refused to do so, stating his desire to prove his worth under Mourinho.
