Hamzah Zainudin, the President of the Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan), has spoken out against the practice of linking an entire party to corruption solely due to the misconduct of an individual. In an interview with FMT, he emphasized that it is unfair to attribute an entire party's wrongdoing to a single individual's misconduct. This perspective conflicts with the notion that linking a whole party to corruption based on the actions of one person is unjust.

Zainudin clarified that it is the individual who commits the corruption, not the party, and urged against speaking as though the party and the individual are synonymous. He stressed that the act of corruption is committed by the individual, and the perception that the party is involved in corruption unfairly denies the possibility of unity among Malay people through the BN-PN alliance.

The recent PRN election in Negeri Sembilan, where Wawasan secured 25 out of 36 parliamentary seats, mostly from Malay constituencies, allowed them to form a government. However, the collaboration between PN and BN has been tainted by corruption allegations and the misuse of power, as evidenced by the 1MDB scandal and the recently released RCI report on the Islamic Religious Trust (TH) that was declassified and made public on July 29th.

This report revealed serious shortcomings in the management of TH's affairs, including heavy losses and embezzlement.

When asked if the unity of the Malay people remains a significant consideration as the elections approach, Zainudin stated that while the political landscape demands unity as a primary agenda, the nation's demographic reality must also be taken into account in crafting a politically acceptable agenda for all groups. He stressed the importance of bringing together a majority that is then joined by other communities to create a shared goal for the nation.

If the majority is not united, achieving a progressive nation becomes difficult. However, if everyone shares the same thoughts, goals, and objectives, unity can lead to a path that benefits the people, the nation, and a better future.
