Police investigate Pasir Mas classroom clash as teacher allegedly hits pupil and mother with cane

PASIR MAS - Police have detained a 54-year-old teacher accused of assaulting a student and the boy's mother with a cane in two incidents this week, according to Harian Metro. The arrest came after the mother lodged a report claiming her son, a primary school pupil, was struck by the teacher. The teacher was found to have hit the boy on the head with a cane on August 11.

Upon hearing about the incident, the mother approached the school, leading the headmaster to arrange a meeting the following day. During the meeting, held in the headmaster's office, the teacher allegedly shouted and struck the woman on her right thigh with the cane, much to the shock of the headmaster. The woman fled in fear. The police are investigating the case under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon, and the teacher has been remanded for three days until Saturday.
