Poland says it foiled Russian plot to kill Ukrainian rapper Kyivstoner

Polish authorities have arrested a suspect in an alleged plot to assassinate Ukrainian rapper Albert Vasyliev, also known as Kyivstoner, according to RMF FM radio station. The suspect is believed to be a native of the Donbas region and a Russian citizen recruited by Russian intelligence, reports the station. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on August 13 that Polish security services detained the individual on suspicion of planning a killing.

Tusk mentioned that the intended victim held passports from Ukraine and the United States, and Kyivstoner holds citizenship in both countries. Subsequently, RMF FM reported that the target was a "defense industry entrepreneur" supplying products to Ukraine. On July 15, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) claimed to have foiled a drone attack on a strategically important plant in the Moscow region, alleging that Ukrainian Security Service planned the attack.

The FSB stated that 35 drones were to be launched remotely from a hangar near the facility, and further claimed Vasyliev was involved in organizing the attack. Vasyliev, a member of the group Griby, responded, "Are you out of your mind? Run your mouth all you want, but not about this. This is unacceptable to me!" Vasyliev, best known for his work with Griby, left Kyiv for the United States in 2017 and later moved to Bratislava. His wife revealed that he provided financial support to the Ukrainian military.
