PMC Proposes ₹54.51 Crore Divyang Bhavan In New Panvel With Rehabilitation And Skill Training Facilities

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) is proposing to construct a state-of-the-art Divyang Bhavan in New Panvel to offer comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities. This ambitious project aims to provide a one-stop facility that will encompass education, vocational training, rehabilitation, counselling, and medical services. The PMC intends to submit the proposal for approval at the upcoming general body meeting. The PMC has earmarked a budget of ₹40 crore for 2025-26 and 2026-27, specifically for rehabilitation and services catering to persons with disabilities and intellectual disabilities. Given that the entire expenditure is unlikely to be realized within a single fiscal year, the civic body plans to implement the project in phases.
