PM vows to put highest priority on overseeing housing supply

Prime Minister Han Seong-sook has pledged to make housing supply her top priority, according to a report from Friday's meeting. The meeting discussed the government's ambitious plan to increase housing supply in the Seoul metropolitan area by over 230,000 units. The plan includes accelerating development on public land, lifting greenbelt restrictions in certain areas, and supporting private sector projects.

Prime Minister Han emphasized the importance of speed in achieving these goals, stating that swift housing supply is crucial to meet citizens' expectations. To ensure progress, she vowed to visit construction sites weekly, monitor project developments, and report findings at Cabinet meetings every month. Additionally, the Prime Minister indicated her intention to hold interagency meetings as needed to coordinate and resolve any issues that arise.
