Photos: Mahama donates items to Zuarungu Health Centre to support Free Primary Healthcare

President John Dramani Mahama recently visited the Zuarungu Health Centre in Ghana's Upper East Region to advocate for the Free Primary Healthcare program. The President emphasized the importance of home visits as a crucial aspect of the initiative, which aims to bring essential healthcare services directly to households. These visits, conducted by community health nurses and volunteers, would include basic health screenings for conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.

The screenings would also help identify pregnant women, newborns, and other individuals who may require additional medical attention or referrals.

In his address, Mahama encouraged residents to welcome healthcare workers into their homes and follow up on any referrals made during the visits. He stressed the significance of early detection in preventing health conditions from escalating into more serious complications. To support the program's implementation and enhance healthcare service delivery within communities, Mahama donated items during the durbar.

The President reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that access to quality healthcare is not influenced by an individual's location.
