Passengers on the LRT Shah Alam line to start paying fares tomorrow

Passengers on Kuala Lumpur Rail Transit (LRT) Shah Alam line will begin paying for their rides tomorrow, after a six-week period of free travel. Rapid KL, the operator of the LRT3 line, has advised riders to ensure their fare cards have at least RM5 and to verify fare rates on the official MyRapid website. The new fare structure will also apply to the shuttle bus service and Park N’ Ride facility.

Rapid KL has expressed gratitude to passengers for their support and trust during the free travel period, which has been well received by the public. The rail operator previously extended the free travel period to allow commuters to familiarize themselves with the new transport network that links Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, and Klang.

The 20-station line connects Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya to Johan Setia in Klang, and also links with the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Kajang line at Bandar Utama and the LRT Kelana Jaya line at Glenmarie. Concession fares are available for students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities through MyRapid concession cards.
