‘Panggil mesyuarat DAP P Pinang’, Chow diberitahu susulan kekal BN dalam kerajaan

Penasihat DAP Lim Guan Eng has urged Pulau Pinang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow to call for another meeting between DAP and the state, focusing on the message to be conveyed to PH voters while maintaining Umno within the government. Lim argued that this meeting would allow Chow to assess the sentiments of the state's leaders, considering the recent tension between Umno and DAP at the federal level following the recent PRN elections.

He further pointed out that not everyone at the Wednesday meeting supported Chow's decision, as no one had raised the issue during the session. Lim referenced meetings from Pulau Pinang, Kedah, and Perlis to discuss whether the party should remain in the national coalition, emphasizing that the sole agenda was whether DAP should remain in the federal government or not.

The meeting did not address Umno's role in the state government, according to Lim. Chow was supposed to call for another joint meeting with DAP Pulau Pinang, focusing on the message PH Pulai Pinang wanted to convey to voters while maintaining Umno's role in the state government. Last week, PH Pulai Pinang decided to maintain its cooperation with the Barisan Nasional (BN) at the state level, despite BN forming an alliance with Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Perak PRN.

Chow stated that the party's leadership unanimously decided to keep the exco BN representative Rashidi Zinol in the state administration. However, Lim criticized this move, calling it incomprehensible and essentially an unconditional support for Umno's role in the state government. Lim challenged the PH Pulai Pinang leadership to act firmly by emphasizing that PN has now become an ally of Umno.

Chow, however, brushed off Lim's comments by stating that no one had raised the matter during the Wednesday meeting.
