Palaniswami slams TN CM Vijay over office shift, says farmers’ woes being ignored

Chennai - Tamil Nadu AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Friday, accusing him of ignoring farmers' struggles while focusing on moving his office to a modern room. Palaniswami targeted the ruling party, with AIADMK rebel MLAs S P Velumani and Natham R Viswanathan opting out of a statewide protest.

The two senior leaders had initially agreed to lead the agitations outside their home districts but later refused to travel beyond their strongholds. The 25 rebel MLAs, who defied the party leadership during a floor test on May 13, reconciled with Palaniswami after fearing disqualification, but six later resigned and joined Vijay's administration.

Palaniswami called for a protest against the state government's failure to secure Tamil Nadu's share of Cauvery water, demanding a complete waiver of crop loans for farmers.
