NDC Hasn’t Delivered Youth Manifesto Promises – Scanty

Ghanaian content creator Scanty has criticized the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to deliver on the promises outlined in their 2024 National Youth Manifesto. This criticism comes after Chief Executive Officer of Youth Employment Agency, Malik Basintale, claimed that the NDC government has successfully implemented every promise made in the manifesto.

In response, Scanty noted that the party has only managed to fulfill half of the commitments they made. Basintale stated that the NDC will "go back to the drawing board" to create a second youth manifesto before the end of the current term of President John Mahama. Meanwhile, many Ghanaians on social media and Scanty himself disagree with Basintale's assessment.

Scanty listed numerous unfulfilled promises such as implementing a 24-Hour Economy, ensuring six-month rent policies, providing free Wi-Fi in tertiary institutions, offering rewards and incentives for health workers, and creating employment opportunities through various programs. Scanty stressed that this is just a "fraction" of the total promises made in the manifesto, and included other areas like improving conditions of service for National Service Scheme personnel and developing community programs in rural areas.
