Natasha Poonawalla flaunts ultra-rare archival Gota Patti Dior saddle

Natasha Poonawalla recently donned a custom-made Versace gown at the Fall 2002 collection's Atelier Versace runway. Stylist Rhea Kapoor revealed the gown was a rendition of Look 3, blending Banarasi brocade – a traditional Indian textile – with Italian craftsmanship. For the occasion, Poonawalla carried a rare Dior Saddle bag from the brand's 10th anniversary collection, also known as the Gota Patti Saddle bag.

Designed by creative director John Galliano, the bag showcased a fusion of iconic Dior saddle bags with Indian artistry. The rani pink bag boasted intricate gota patti, zardosi, and nath embellishments. The India-themed version celebrated Galliano's ten-year tenure at Dior, incorporating vibrant pink, jeweled details, and golden ghungroos – traditional Indian ankle bells.

The bag's central design focus was the enchanting gota patti embroidery, an ancient Indian technique involving gold or silver lace ribbon stitched onto fabrics. Fashion enthusiast Jackariaeh Francis, aka Parisian Sweet on Instagram, first shared the exclusive piece on TikTok. Poonawalla accessorized her Versace look with emerald and diamond studs, ruby and emerald bee brooches, polki buttons, and a polki ring, all from esteemed Indian jewelry houses. A statement neckpiece, crafted by Bvlgari, completed the ensemble.
