MK Dons boss Warne embraces promotion bid pressure

MK Dons manager Paul Warne acknowledges the pressure associated with the club's promotion bid, but he finds it to be a beneficial aspect of the journey. The team, now back in League One after a two-year absence, aims for a second consecutive promotion. Warne, who previously led Rotherham and Derby to promotion, emphasizes that the club's objective has always been to reach the Championship.

He believes the current League One is tougher than it was last season and that the squad he has assembled is capable of competing for a top-half position. Warne disclosed that MK Dons owner Fahad Al Ghanim has set a target of 92 points for the season. Despite this ambitious goal, Warne remains confident in his team's potential, stating that other managers would likely express similar ambitions.

The club has signed six new players during the summer transfer window, including Sam Silvera and Charlie Goode. MK Dons are set to make their debut in League One for the first time since 2023, facing Oxford United on Saturday.
