LaLiga: ‘I was fed up’ – Mourinho reveals who forced him out of Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho, the former Real Madrid manager, has opened up about the turbulent period at the Santiago Bernabeu during his tenure from 2010 to 2013. The Portuguese coach joined the club following a treble-winning season with Inter Milan in 2010 and spent three seasons in Spain. While Mourinho managed to secure a La Liga title in 2012, ending Barcelona’s three-year dominance, the relationship between him and his players was strained.

According to Mourinho's recent interview on Netflix, the issues stemmed from various matters beyond the pitch. Firstly, captain Iker Casillas expressed his desire for increased vacation time for national team players. Next, Mourinho was asked to postpone training by an hour due to heavy traffic in Madrid, and Casillas even suggested that the team prefer meeting on matchday and heading directly to the stadium instead of going to the hotel.

Mourinho described the mental state of the squad as "very poor." He also addressed rumors of unrest in the dressing room, revealing that he felt frustrated with his players and vice versa. The manager admitted being "fed up with the players and the media" and ultimately sensed that his time at Real Madrid was nearing its end. Since leaving the Bernabeu, Mourinho has since managed Chelsea, Manchester United, and AS Roma before returning to Real Madrid for his second tenure.
