Kepercayaan antara Anwar, Zahid pada tahap terendah, dakwa KJ

Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has expressed concern over the low level of trust between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Zahid Hamidi. Speaking on a recent episode of Keluar Sekejap, Khairy said that the BN's decision to collaborate with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the recent PRN Negeri Sembilan election has significantly strained relations between BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH).

PH and BN contested the election in Negeri Sembilan, with BN winning 25 seats and PH securing 11. Anwar is the chairman of PH, while Zahid leads BN. PRN Negeri Sembilan's victory was seen by PH as a betrayal, while BN claims it only agreed to cooperate at the federal level, not for an indefinite period.

Khairy also questioned how long BN would continue to support the unity government. He suggested that the next general election could depend on BN's performance, as many BN MPs may withdraw their support, leaving the party weakened. The situation appears to be in Zahid's hands, according to Khairy.

Khairy cited the recent reshuffling of positions, such as Wong Chen's move from his Subang parliamentary seat to the Bersatu party led by former PKR leader Rafizi Ramli and independent member Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. Other MPs who joined Bersatu included Ampang's Rodziah Ismail and Petaling Jaya's Lee Chean Chung. Khairy also mentioned speculations about Kudat's Verdon Bahanda and Kota Marudu's Wetrom Bahanda, both independent MPs from the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat, potentially joining BN.

Turning to other developments, Khairy noted that DAP may choose to remain in the current unity government for a year to showcase progress and ensure Anwar's administration remains stable. He also accused some DAP leaders of wanting ministerial positions, despite previously appearing reluctant.
