Jeddah Islamic Port customs seize over 58 kg of methamphetamine

Customs officials at Jeddah Islamic Port successfully intercepted a shipment containing 58.6 kg of methamphetamine, destined for Saudi Arabia. The drugs, also referred to as shabu, were concealed within a shipment declared to be men's shoes. Upon entering the port, customs officials utilized advanced technology and sniffer dogs for security inspections, ultimately discovering the illicit substances hidden in the shoes.

In response to the seizure, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control was notified, leading to the arrest of three individuals attempting to receive the contraband in the Kingdom. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority remains dedicated to rigorously monitoring both imports and exports, working in collaboration with key partners such as the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure public safety and prevent drug smuggling.
