Iran formalises Strait of Hormuz control as US struggles to sustain war it launched with Israel

Iran has taken another step towards solidifying its control of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, as the United States grapples with the challenge of maintaining the war it initiated in conjunction with Israel. The Iranian parliament's internal affairs and councils committee has endorsed the foundational tenets of a strategic blueprint aimed at governing both security and development in the strait and the broader Gulf region.

Valiullah Bayati, a spokesperson for the parliamentary committee, disclosed on Friday that the blueprint would proceed to additional scrutiny. Bayati informed the Tasnim news agency, "The strategic action plan to ensure the security and progress of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf was scrutinized by the Councils' Commission and, after deliberating on various perspectives, its fundamental structure was officially endorsed."

The plan is poised to obstruct vessels and assets belonging to the United States, Israel, and other nations deemed hostile by Iran from traversing the waterway.
