Iowa's Kaden Wetjen caps NFL preseason debut with first touchdown

Kaden Wetjen, a standout return specialist at Iowa, made his NFL debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the preseason opener on Thursday night. The former Hawkeye, who was drafted in the fourth round, quickly captivated the fans in black and gold. During the third quarter, Wetjen showcased his exceptional talent by catching a 75-yard in route from quarterback Drew Allar, setting up a touchdown that marked his first professional scoring opportunity.

The Steelers' offense then took the field for the next drive, leading to a first-down and goal at the Green Bay 5-yard line. Allar connected with Wetjen, who demonstrated his speed and agility, scoring his first touchdown for the Steelers. Following his thrilling performance, Wetjen completed the night with two receptions, a game-high 79 receiving yards, and a touchdown.

Additionally, he contributed with three kick returns for 61 yards and two punt returns for 10 yards. Wetjen's impressive debut signals that he will likely play a significant role in the Steelers' pursuit of a playoff berth.
