South African DJ and television personality Lamiez Holworthy has disclosed a harrowing health crisis that nearly claimed her life, while addressing body-shaming comments that surfaced during her recovery. In a Facebook post, Holworthy thanked her supporters for their prayers and revealed that the past few days had been "scary and painful beyond words." She stated, "I nearly died. I nearly lost my life and probably would've if I wasn't rushed to the hospital on Sunday."

Holworthy's disclosure came after her management confirmed a hospitalization and an emergency surgical procedure, though they assured the public that her condition was not life-threatening at the time. Her latest update painted a more vivid picture of the ordeal, revealing that she had lost a significant amount of blood, prompting her doctor to consider a blood transfusion. She emphasized the trauma her body had endured, stating, "How I am able to type this is a miracle."

Reflecting on the experience, Holworthy emphasized the importance of listening to her body and not working herself to death. She questioned the value of sacrificing her health for her career, expressing that all the hard work would be meaningless if she were no longer alive to enjoy it. Holworthy also highlighted the significance of remembering her humanity amidst her demanding professional schedule, stating, "But also, that I am Human and not a robot."
