Here's a first for Call of Duty: The Modern Warfare 4 beta will have a campaign mission and Warzone stuff

The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta, set to launch on August 21 for pre-orders, is a notable departure from the series' typical multiplayer focus. This beta marks the first time a campaign mission will be playable, marking a significant change for the franchise. Titled "Entrenched," this mission will see players control a squad of South Korean marines, including one American, as they engage in an uphill assault against North Korea's invasion of South Korea.

The mission features various combat scenarios including the use of trenches, APCs, shotguns, and an elaborate mo-capped brawl with an NPC ally.

In addition to the campaign, the Warzone mode will also be included in the beta for the first time, beginning on August 28 and running through September 1. Players will be able to test out the new Zodiac Resurgence map, which is set to incorporate gameplay changes from Modern Warfare 4. The beta aims to provide a comprehensive experience of the game's new features and improvements, offering an early glimpse at how Infinity Ward plans to address some of the criticisms from last year's Black Ops 7.

The studio has not officially commented on the decision to include both the campaign and Warzone in the beta, but it is speculated that this move is intended to appease fans who were not satisfied with the previous installment and to generate excitement before the highly anticipated release of GTA6.
