Help me walk again, 17-year-old boy seeks N2m for amputation, artificial limb

17-year-old Daniel Akanni is seeking N2 million to undergo amputation of his left leg and receive an artificial limb. Born with a deformity in his left leg, Akanni had corrective surgery at the age of 18 months, which allowed him to walk, albeit with a limp due to the shorter leg. While he hoped to pursue Petroleum Engineering, his financial situation forced him to seek external assistance.

His mother, Oluwatoyin, explained that despite various treatments and a previous free surgery program offered by the Lagos State Government, Akanni's condition worsened after subsequent surgeries. With the total cost for the amputation and artificial limb amounting to N2 million, the family has exhausted their resources and is now appealing for help from the Nigerian public.
