Help me walk again, 17-year-old boy seeks N2m for amputation, artificial limb

Seventeen-year-old Daniel Akanni is asking for financial aid of N2 million to have his left leg amputated and receive an artificial limb. Diagnosed with a leg deformity at birth, Akanni had corrective surgery at the National Orthopaedic Hospital at 18 months, enabling him to walk though with a limp due to the shorter corrected leg.

Despite undergoing two surgeries to correct his gait, the condition worsened, leading doctors to recommend amputation and fitting with an artificial limb. His family has exhausted all resources and cannot afford the N2 million total cost, so Akanni is appealing for public help, stating he has faith in the successful outcome and hopes to study Petroleum Engineering.
